  Warranty not honored on workmanship, unnecessary transmission overhaul .Flexplate broke due to bolts coming loose caused my small motorhome to be stranded on I 95 . Action was very helpful in arranging the tow, they quoted $ 150.00 for the tow but charged me 250.00. Not a big deal. They were nice, letting us stay in the motorhome while the repair was taking place. They went to work on it promptly. The motorhome had the original gas engine replaced with a diesel retrofit that used the original flexplate to connect the transmission. This is the part that broke, the flexplate, either from being to weak or the bolts that hold it on coming loose. That was the only thing that was actually broken. The transmission had just been opened and repaired as necessary however Action recommended another full overhaul that we agreed to for piece of mind. The flexplate was replaced with an identical, cheap ($ 20.00) plate and the bolts holding it on were installed without lock washers or loctite and not torqued with a torque wrench.
  Total repair cost was $ 2169.00
  300 miles and 7 days later the same problem occurred again, the bolts came loose again, leaving us stranded once again on I 95. This time, we arranged our own tow for $ 75..00 and the repair was $ 262.00- consisted of removing the transmission and tightening the bolts properly with loctite. Just for good measure we replaced the flexplate with a stronger design from Summit Racing, the cheap one wasn't broken but since the transmission was out it was easy. This stronger plate was $ 75.00 instead of $ 20.00 for the flimsy original one. Total cost of repair second time around $ 337.50 including tow.
  The overhaul at Action came with a 12 month, 12000 miles warranty for parts and labor but was denied, Action excluded the flimsy flex plate from their regular warranty. When I asked to get the repair cost for properly securing the bolts reimbursed they denied. The original cause of the problem was not properly repaired with improper workmanship by not using lock washers or loctite on the bolts in question. This is what the mechanic stated during the second repair and he must have done it properly since the bolts didn't come loose again and all has been well .
  now. They should have honored the warranty, obviously we will not go back there.
  UPDATE 5/22/17 I had filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and it was not resolved so they offered arbitration by an independent arbitrator for a fee of $ 50.00. I paid the fee and at the arbitration hearing simply stated the facts of the case. The business owner wasn't too keen on the facts. The case was decided in my favor with the arbitrator ordering the business owner to reimburse me for the cost of the second repair ($ 260) and provide me with a written copy of the original warranty.
  The business owner did send me a check but he found one last way to screw me over by modifying his original warranty that was verbally stated as "nationwide at any ATRA shop" to "only at our shop" and no mention of ATRA. If I experience a problem with the transmission I am supposed to mail it to them for repair. Like I would ever trust them again for anything.
  This was a $2200.00 repair and the second repair was slightly more than
  10% of that, all they needed to do was say "sorry we will make it right" and I would have given them a great review but instead nothing but denial and BS. Sad.

  Just spoke with Robin on the phone. I will say they are extremely competent. I've been trying to find a place somewhat close to Waycross, GA where I can send a truck having some issues. This will be the place I choose. As a female in the industry, it's nice to finally have someone that understands on the phone. They arent just looking for a rebuild and profit. As this one doesn't need a build, its just having some other issues.
