  I'm from here and never knew about this place. Great way to see local flora and fauna. There are many labels so can learn to recognize trees and plants from around here. It can take a while to walk all the trails. Good exercise. I don't think bikes are allowed on the trails as they're quite narrow at times. It is dog friendly in all but one trail. Closes before dark I think and they accept donations. There's also a toilet near the parking lot.

  My favorite place to visit nature in all of its beauty. Great trails to walk, long or short. Has plenty of picnic tables, great for parties, get togethers, or just a spot to enjoy the scenery. Amazing views of the lake all around it, and benches to sit throughout the preserve. Visit alone or with a group, the Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens will never disappoint.

  This is a really great place to take a nice walk in the woods. Also you can take time to stop and smell the flowers. My son and I had a great time. We took a lot of wonderful photos. I think that the best part is when it was getting close to closing time we were lost. You have no idea how funny that can be. Also at that same time there was something rustling in the dry leaves. The Arboretum and Gardens is a really great place to sit and write in your journal. I know that breathing in all of its beauty and then walking around a corner to find 20 or more adults playing Pokemon made my day. I really can't remember when or if I had ever laughed so hard in my life. We will definitely be returning there very soon. I believe that it's a great journey in our wonderful city that can suck you up if you are not careful. If you have an hour to walk a path into the woods and get back to nature for a while then the arboretum and gardens is definitely a spot that you may want to see.
